WINForum Executive Summary

The WINForum meets four times each year.
At these sessions nutrition experts present on nutrition and health issues relevant to today’s athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and health/nutrition educators. Following each session, an Executive Summary is created.


WINForum Webinar Off-Season Sports Nutrition:
Eat to WIN … even in the Off-Season

The WINForum Webinar Clinic was held on June 9th, 2010, at the Odegaard Library Videoconferencing Center on the University of Washington campus. Emily Edison, M.S., R.D., UW Sports Dietitian and John O’Kane, M.D., UW Head Team Physician discussed with an online audience the importance of athletes having a controlled diet of fruits/vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and low-fat or fat-free dairy – even during the off-season.

WINForum Clinic Weighing In On Sports Nutrition

The WINForum Spring Clinic was held on March 5th, 2010, at the Northcreek Events Center on the University of Washington-Bothell campus. Thirty-five coaches and athletic trainers attended the session where John O’Kane, M.D., UW Head Team Physician, and Emily Edison, M.S., R.D., UW Sports Dietitian, spoke on the importance of balancing nutrition with an athlete’s individual needs to reach peak performance.

WINForum WINForum Sports Nutrition Game Plan

The 3rd annual WINForum fall clinic was held on October 28th, 2009 at the University of Washington’s Conibear Shell House. About 40 high school coaches and athletic trainers attended the session where Dr. Brian Krabak, UW Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Emily Edison, M.S., R.D., UW Sports Dietitian, introduced the WINForum Sports Nutrition Game Plan.
