More About The WINForum

WHY THE WINForum WAS ESTABLISHED:
Young athletes and coaches need information about the influence of nutrition on scholastic and athletic performance. There is low awareness of this link, and information resources are limited. The WINForum was established to provide an athletic-oriented nutrition information resource for students, parents and coaches.

WINForum SESSIONS:
The WINForum will meet three times each year. By means of these sessions an annual nutrition handbook for student athletes will be developed, as well as content and ideas for the web site (www.winforum.org). Attendance to all meetings is not necessary for participation in the WINForum. We are most interested in assembling and distributing information about balanced nutrition for student athletes. An executive summary of each session will enable WINForum participants to stay involved and contribute even if scheduling conflicts arise on session dates. Periodic conference calls and bulk emails will be other methods used to collaborate with WINForum contributers and supporters.

WHAT THE WINForum HOPES TO ACHIEVE:
Through the WINForum, coaches, Certified Athletic Trainers, athletes and other supporters will gain a better understanding about the correlation between balanced nutrition and peak performance. FOOD=FUEL. Mailings, handouts, handbooks, bookmarks, meetings and an on-line component (www.winforum.org) will be valuable resources for increasing awareness and providing practical solutions.

WHO IS PART OF THE WINForum:
Initial WINForum membership includes: the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, the Washington State Youth Soccer Association, the Dairy Farmers of Washington, Seattle University’s Athletic Department, Southwest Airlines, the Seattle Sheraton and Food Services of America.
