Huskies required to drink chocolate milk
AOL Sports (online) August 10, 2007

You remember the milk commercials such as "Milk it Does a Body Good" or the ever-popular milk print ads where various celebs proudly sport the milk mustache. Apparently the UW strength and conditioning coaches, as well as Ty Willingham, fully believe in the nutritional power of milk. And not just milk, but chocolate milk!
As SI.com reports today, every Husky football player, provided they aren't lactose-intolerant, must drink one bottle of Gatorade, and one small carton of the brown stuff after practice. Apparently a new study was released last fall that said there was very little difference between drinking a sports drink vs. drinking chocolate milk, and of course, milk has all the extra benefits like natural proteins and vitamins that you just don't get from the leading sports drinks.
The players, as you might predict, were a little unsure at first, but it seems to be catching on:
When asked recently what was the best part of being a Husky, center Juan Garcia had a unique answer: "I said 'tradition and chocolate milk."'
We'll see if this catches on around the country. But you can at least be sure that Florida, the birthplace of Gatorade, won't be trading in their orange buckets for gallons of healthy, chocolate goodness.
